The IRA - also called the Irish Republican Army. They were dedicated to Irish republicanism - they believed that all of Ireland should be an independent republic. They also meant that political violence was necessary to become the independent republic.

Sinn Féin is an Irish political party. It was founded in 1905 by Arthur Griffith. It has historically been associated with the IRA. It is the largest nationalist party in Northern Ireland and the second-largest overall. They support minority rights, migrants' rights and want to eradicate poverty.
